CVMVCD FOGGING ADVISORY:

We will start ground fogging July 22 through August 1 at 7:45pm for 10 consecutive days, weather permitting. Adulticide fogging will start inside Adohr’s Duck Club and along Lincoln Street.  An aerial treatment will also occur over the Lincoln Street site. Additional ground fogging will be performed in the area between Avenues 70 and 72 upslope from the marsh areas.

FOGGING ADVISORY FOR MOSQUITO CONTROL

USE OF ULTRA LOW VOLUME (ULV) FOGGERS FOR MOSQUITO CONTROL

1.     Fogging is a control measure used to kill adult mosquitoes, and protect the public from infected mosquitoes.

2.     Selected pesticides are applied in a manner that minimizes risks to human health, beneficial organisms, and the environment.

3.     Fogging creates a very fine mist.

4.     Residents and pets should remain indoors and keep windows closed and window-unit air conditioners off for 30 minutes following fogging.

5.     The fogging will only be continued for as long as high mosquito populations are detected in the area.

PYRENONE® 25-5
PUBLIC HEALTH INSECTICIDE

The District is using Pyrenone 25-5®, public health insecticide, which is characterized as a botanical insecticide that include pyrethrins or synthetic pyrethroids with pyperonyl butioxide.  It is used in many mosquito control districts in California because of the small amount needed for treatment - less than 1 ounces per acre, and because it breaks down within a few hours in the environment.  The product is approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and applied according to label directions by trained and certified staff.
