Discussion and/or direction to Staff on District media responses and outreach program. – Executive Committee
Background:
Kiner Communications was initially engaged to address a specific scope of work unrelated to the current media situation. They have found themselves responding to contacts from members of the media and addressing issues unrelated to the District’s Community Outreach program. During discussions with the firm, a number of alternatives were discussed to address the barrage of negative media information, i.e., advertisements, Valley Voice pieces, letters to the editors, public information videos describing services, the value the District provides with its services, etc. As this is outside the scope of the District’s original agreement with Kiner Communications, Staff seeks a better understanding of the extent and expense the District wishes to exercise in this matter and which, if any, approaches they feel best serve the District
