Approval for Finance Manager to attend the Special District and Local Government Institute Seminar, titled Administration, June 26 -27, 2008, in San Diego for an amount not to exceed $1,500 from Fund #7600.01.225—Staff Training
Background:
This educational seminar is intended to provide special district management team members with the tools and methods for dealing with the challenges facing local government agencies. Speakers will discuss tools and methods for dealing with the challenges facing local government agencies and offers insights for solving today’s leadership challenges. The seminar is a part of the certification program in special district leadership and management.

Recommendation:
Approve attendance at the Special District and Local Government Institute Seminar, June 26-27, 2008 in San Diego, in an amount not to exceed $1,500 from Fund #7600.01.225—Staff Training.
Fiscal Impact:
Current funds available from Fund #7600.01.225—Staff Training is $13,336, which is 33% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 11% of the available balance.
