Board of Trustees Meeting December 11, 2007 |
Agenda Item: New Business
Discussion and/or approval to engage Participation Works to facilitate reviews of progress toward the goals established as part of the 2007-08 Strategic Plan in an amount not to exceed $1,000 from Account # 6120.1.250, Trustee Support. – Sharon Lock
Background:
Trustees and staff members attended a 2-day Strategic
Planning Conference on October 19 and 20, 2007, to assess the District’s
programs and services and to establish objectives for the coming year. The meeting was facilitated by Linda and
Milan Hamilton of Participation Works.
To ensure that the District remains focused on meeting these goals, the
Trustees asked the facilitators to return in six months to conduct a two-hour
review and a four-hour review and planning for Year Two. Their proposal is attached and suggests
scheduling the two-hour review in April 2008 and the 4-hour review and planning
in October 2008.
Staff Recommendation:
Approve the proposal to provide the follow-up and planning session as recommended. Also, determine convenient dates in April and October 2008 for the meetings. Suggested dates:
Tuesday prior to Board Meeting: April 8, 2008 or Friday, April, 4, 18 or 25, 2008. October 2008 suggested dates: Friday, October 3, 10, 17, or 24, 2008.
Fiscal Impact:
Current funds available from Trustee Support Fund # 6120.01.250 are
$12,830 which is 53 percent of the budgeted amount for this line item. This
expenditure is approximately 8 percent of the available balance.
