Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District

Board of Trustees Meeting

February 12, 2008

Agenda Item:

Informational Item – Form 700 - Statement of Economic Interests Reference Pamphlet

Background:

The Political Reform Act of 1974 requires that any person serving in a position designated in an agency’s or district’s Conflict of Interest Code must file an annual Form 700.  The Riverside County Board of Supervisors serves as the code reviewing body for local agencies whose jurisdiction is solely within the County. Since certain positions are listed in our District’s Conflict of Interest Code, individuals in those positions are required to file a Form 700 with the County of Riverside.

At this Board Meeting, all Trustees will receive a Form 700; Trustees are requested to complete the document and return it to the District prior to the next Board Meeting, Tuesday, March 11, 2008. The Finance Administrator is the Filing Officer for the District and will forward each original completed and signed Form 700 to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. The period covered by this annual statement is from January 1, 2007, through December 31, 2007.

The Reference Pamphlet outlines filing requirements, statement types, where and when to file, and terms and definitions. There are instructions with the Form 700; additional assistance is available on the Fair Political Practices Commission website www.fppc.ca.gov. There is also a toll-free helpline: 1 (866) ASK-FPPC.
