Approval for Administrative Assistant Anita Jones to attend the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Annual Conference June 22-25, 2008, in Chicago, IL. Amount not to exceed $4,000.00 from Fund #7600.01.225 – Staff Training.

Background:

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest professional association devoted to human resource management. Their mission is to serve the needs of HR professionals by providing the most current and comprehensive resources. The annual conference offers an interactive forum for sharing the experiences of professionals with diverse knowledge, skills, techniques, and abilities. Sessions include The Performance Review Workshop for HR Professionals, Team Building for Maximum Performance, and Skeletons, Brooms and Old Baggage: Cleaning Your Closet with an HR Audit.

Staff Recommendation:

Approve attendance at the SHRM Annual Conference for the Administrative Assistant in an amount not to exceed $4,000.00 From Fund #7600.01.225 – Staff Training.

Fiscal Impact:

Current funds available in Fund #7600.01.225 – Staff Training is $12,417, which is 43% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 32% of the available balance.
