Agenda Item: Consent Calendar
Approval for 48 District employees and Trustees to attend the MVCAC
Annual Conference, January 13 through 16, 2008, in Palm Springs, in an amount
not to exceed $4,900 from Fund #6110.01.225 – Conference Expense, $5,300 from
Fund #7600.01.225 – Staff Training, and $3,100 from Fund # 6120.01.250 –
Trustee Support.
Background:
This educational seminar is intended to provide staff with the opportunity to hear speakers address issues which are timely and relevant. It also facilitates employee networking and the sharing of information and experiences. The District regularly attends this annual conference with various numbers of staff. Transportation will be by District vehicles.
District staff will be attending conference sessions on Monday and Tuesday, January 14 and 15, 2008, in order to obtain continuing education units to maintain their State of California Department of Public Health Vector Control Technician certification.

Current funds available from Fund #6110.01.225 – Conference Expense are $53,439 which is 98% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 9% of the available balance.
Current funds available from Fund #7600.01.225 – Staff Training are $16,183 which is 56% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 33% of the available balance.
Current funds available from Fund #6120.01.250 – Trustee Support are $19,377, which is 81% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 16% of the available balance.
