Agenda Item: Consent Calendar
Approval for Administrative Assistant Anita Jones to attend the Annual California Public Employers Labor Relations Association (CALPELRA) Training Conference, November 14-16, 2007, in Monterey, in an amount not to exceed $1,500.00 from Fund #7600.01.225 – Staff Training.
Background:
CALPELRA is the
public sector’s resource for labor-relations, leadership, training, legislative
action, and professional development. The
annual training conference offers an interactive forum for sharing the
experiences of professionals with diverse knowledge, skills, techniques, and
abilities. Sessions include Cultivating Effective
Work Relationships, Preparing for Bargaining, Auditing Personnel Files, Health Care
Reform, and Hot Topics in Labor and Employment Law.
Staff Recommendation:
Approve attendance at the CALPELRA training conference for the
Administrative Assistant in an amount not to exceed $1,500.00 From Fund #7600.01.225
– Staff Training.
Fiscal Impact:
Current funds available in Fund #7600.01.225 – Staff Training is $18,746, which is 65% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 8% of the available balance.
