Approval for President Mike Duran, General Manager Don Gomsi, Scientific Operations Manager Branka Lothrop, Fishery & Environmental Biologist Gerald Chuzel, and two additional staff members to be named later to attend the Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California Quarterly Fall Meeting in Lake Tahoe, October 31 – November 2, 2007. Amount not to exceed $6,500 from Fund 6110.01.225 – Conference Expense and $1,300 from Fund 6120.01. 250 – Trustee Support.

Background:

The MVCAC Fall meeting is open to corporate, affiliate, associate, and sustaining members.  Non-members may not attend. The MVCAC Quarterly meeting works through committees and the Board of Directors Meeting.  Additionally, there will be a Trustee Advisory Council Meeting.  The agenda for this meeting is not available as of this date.

Staff Recommendation:

Approve funding for President, General Manager, Scientific Operations Manager, Information Systems Analyst, and one additional staff member to attend the Quarterly MVCAC Meeting in Lake Tahoe, October 31 – November 2, 2007.

Fiscal Impact:

Current funds available from Fund #6110.01.225 — Conference Expense is $54,440.00, which is 100% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 12% of the available balance. Current funds available from Fund #6120.01.250 — Trustee Support is $23,527.00, which is 98% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 5% of the available balance.
