Approval for General Manager to attend the Leadership Coachella Valley program once a month for 10 months, beginning September 20, 2007, and ending June 13, 2008, at an amount not to exceed $850.00 from Fund #7600.01.225—Staff Training
Background:
Once a month from September 20, 2007, through June 13, 2008, participants attend an all-day seminar in which important community issues are reviewed and discussed. The format includes a combination of presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on visits to locales relevant to the day’s theme. Experts share their insights and views and interact with participants during lively discussions. Topics include: Leadership, Team Building and History; Government, Judicial Process, Law Enforcement; Economic Drivers of Valley, Tourism, Agriculture; Transportation and Energy; Housing in the Valley; Art, Culture and Recreation; Healthcare; Education and Diversity; Communications and the Media; Environmental Issues.

Approve attendance at the Leadership Coachella Valley program, September 20, 2007, through June 13, 2008, in an amount not to exceed $850.00 from Fund #7600.01.225—Staff Training.
Fiscal Impact:
Current funds available from Fund #7600.01.225—Staff Training is $28,750, which is 100% of the budgeted amount for this line item. This expenditure is approximately 3% of the available balance.
