Agenda Item: New Business – Executive Committee
Approval of scope of work for inclusion in an RFP for the engagement of a Communications and Public Relations Firm to assist the Community Outreach Program with its program goals and objectives.
Background:
The Board at their July meeting directed Staff to prepare a scope of work that would be included in an RFP for distribution to solicit a contractor of communications and public relations services for the District. The attached Scope of Work requests a review of our current media relations, our approaches, and recommendations to ensure our messages reach the correct markets and are aired at appropriate times. In addition, the firm will work with the Community Outreach Program to ensure coordination of a consistent public message and enhanced media tools, such as the website, brochures, PSA spots, etc.
Upon receipt of responses, viable proposals will be presented to the Board for their review discussion and/or approval.
Staff Recommendation:
Approve the attached Scope of Work to include in an RPF to solicit bids to contract for the District’s Community Outreach program.
