Executive Committee Meeting

Call To Order:

Vice President John Fuschetti called the meeting to order at 10:13 a.m., on March 28, 2008, in the District’s Conference Room. Those present at roll call were Vice President John Fuschetti, Secretary/Treasurer Dr. Bruce Underwood, Interim General Manager Diane Glanz, and Legal Counsel Lisa Copeland.

Confirmation of Agenda:

Trustee Underwood moved to confirm the agenda with the modification of moving Item 6 (Review of April 8, 2008 Board Agenda) to follow Item 8 (Closed Sessions). Second by Trustee Fuschetti. Carried unanimously.

Approval of Minutes of February 29, 2008

Trustee Underwood moved to approve the minutes of the February 29, 2008, meeting as presented. Second by Trustee Fuschetti. Carried unanimously.

Closed Session:

PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT Title: Interim General Manager Government Code Section 54957

Conference with Legal Counsel – anticipated litigation pursuant to Government Code section 54956.9(b) - 2 Potential Cases

Returning from Closed Session, Legal Counsel Copeland stated that there was no reportable action.

Review of April 8, 2008 Board, Agenda

Reviewed with the following items added to the draft agenda: media discussion; Mike Duran; and Management Audit. Closed session was revised to request biographies from potential Interim General Manger candidates, rather than interviews at this meeting, and to add professional evaluation procedures for general counsel.

Media Response

Discussion occurred on the best way to proceed with communicating the District’s message and the use of Kiner Communication’s services. Staff was directed to prepare this as an item to include for discussion of all the Trustees at the next meeting.
